The development

This project was produced working with Montage Communications who were tasked with overseeing the creation of a new website and developing PR and social media strategy for Bristol recruitment agency – Lucy Bristow Appointments.

Our involvement in the project consisted of the design build and development of a fully functioning recruitment website.

After an initial meeting to assess requirements, the site build focused on the four core areas of Front end, Candidates, Clients and Administration.

Front End

The front end of the site is the area generally accessible to site visitors, it allows visitors to browse job vacancies, use the ‘Job Search’ feature and to view the News and Blog elements of the site. The front end also contains the other site content pages and is geared towards keeping visitors informed whilst optimising the site for search engines such as Google. Other areas of front end functionality include user registration areas for new candidates and clients, and log in areas for existing candidates, clients and administrators.

The site uses a straightforward content management system (CMS) that allows site administrators to administer content, including job vacancies, news and blog articles. The administration area also allows the site administrators to manage candidates, clients and other administrators who have signed up to the site.

Candidate Area

The sites candidate area, is perhaps the most complex area of the site, once registered, candidates are able to perform tasks including uploading their CV, applying for job vacancies and signing up for email alerts about their chosen job categories. They are also given access to additional candidate resources to help them in their job search and can create a watch list so that they can follow their favourite vacancies.

Client Area

The client area of the Lucy Bristow site allows approved, registered clients to submit their latest vacancies to Lucy Bristow staff so that these can be reviewed and posted to the site. The site allows clients to fill in predefined information fields regarding their vacancies and also provides an option for uploading more detailed job specifications in Word or PDF formats.
